Celebrating Vancouver's Waterfront Park, and new jobs
It was exciting to be a part of Vancouver Waterfront Park's celebration on September 29 along with thousands of others. My hat is off to the City of Vancouver, the developers, builders, and investors who had the vision for highlighting the Columbia River with this incredible design.
The new waterfront park will be a huge economic expansion in an area that has been through some highs and lows – this development will help even more families thrive in Southwest Washington. I was pleased to support federal grant funding that helped make this dream a reality.

Improving lives for recovering moms and their children
Lifeline Connections’ new facility in Vancouver for pregnant and parenting women in substance use recovery will be life-changing for those families.
It was great to tour the gorgeous facility several weeks ago and see how the federal funding we helped secure for this program will improve lives for moms and children.

BIPARTISAN WORK: Ranked #15 out of 438 in working on bipartisan solutions
The Lugar Center and Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy released its Bipartisan Index. Out of 438 U.S. House members it scored, I was honored to be ranked as the 15th most bipartisan.

I’ve been laser-focused on creating better economic opportunities and solving problems for folks from Vancouver to Chehalis to Goldendale to Seaview, and whether that’s standing up for real health care solutions, protecting our native salmon runs, increasing survival rates for expectant moms or preserving manufacturing jobs, I’m proud to work with both parties on solutions.

You can read more about the ranking here.

ASSISTING SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON RESIDENTS
HELPING ARMY VETERAN WITH MEDICAL BILLS

Mr. Josh Bradley of Toledo, a veteran of the U.S. Army, contacted our office because he was involved in a vehicular accident for which he was not at fault. He was faced with massive medical expenses, and because the responsible party had limited insurance coverage, the VA was supposed to step in and pay the medical bills.

However, Mr. Bradley was unable to get the VA to pay the medical expenses, even after hiring a lawyer. Our office reached out to the VA on September 4, and by September 7, the decision was made to cover his medical bills, amounting to $59,580.33.

Are you having trouble with a federal agency?

HONORED TO BE A FRIEND OF FARMERS

I'm proud to receive the "Friend of Farm Bureau" award for my support of policy issues affecting Southwest Washington's farmers and ranchers.

I’ve worked to ensure that pest and disease research programs are available for cranberry farmers in Pacific County, fought to help berry and tree fruit farmers market and protect their crops, and pushed to repeal the ’Waters of the U.S.’ rule that would give the federal government control over ditches and puddles on private property.

It’s an honor to have this work recognized, and I’ll always be a friend of farmers as long as I’m representing them in Congress.
