Jaime Herrera Beutler Earns “Friend of Farm Bureau” Award
U.S. Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler shared today that she has earned the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award for her support of policy issues affecting Southwest Washington’s farmers and ranchers.
Jaime received a letter announcing she’d been selected as a Friend of Farm Bureau for the 115th Congress. The American Farm Bureau Federation is a grassroots organization made up of 6 million member families. The Friend of Farm Bureau award is given to members of Congress who have supported farm-friendly legislation and who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureaus.
“I’m proud to receive this award recognizing my efforts in Congress on behalf of Southwest Washington farmers,” Jaime said. “I’ve worked to ensure that pest and disease research programs are available for cranberry farmers in Pacific County, fought to help berry and tree fruit farmers market and protect their crops, and pushed to repeal the ’Waters of the U.S.’ rule that would give the federal government control over ditches and puddles on private property. It’s an honor to have this work recognized, and I’ll always be a friend of farmers as long as I’m representing them in Congress.”
