Jaime Herrera Beutler announced today that she will be hosting her fourth annual Southwest Washington jobs fair on Wednesday, May 14. She is also hosting a workshop on Friday, May 9, to provide resume and job hunting tips for attendees.
Both events are free to all Southwest Washington residents. The jobs fair will include employers from a variety of industries seeking qualified candidates. Employers who are interested in participating are encouraged to contact Pam Peiper in Jaime’s Vancouver office at (360) 695-6292.
The May 9 job hunting workshop will include representatives from WorkSource, local human resources departments and headhunting agencies. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion as well as individual one-on-one counseling. The panel will discuss resume building, interviewing skills, networking, and other important aspects of the job-seeking process.
“Even as Southwest Washington’s economy recovers, residents tell me that employment is by far still their top priority. I’m pleased to host yet another jobs fair where people can find a job, or at least build the skills and contacts to help them land one soon,” said Jaime. “My primary legislative focus in DC is still on helping our economy, and that’s my focus right here at home, too. I’ll do whatever I can to get people back to work.”
